IETE's Journey Since 1953 and What It Means for the New Generation

Established in 1953, IETE is regarded as one of India's oldest and most prestigious professional organisations. Over the past seven decades, it has played an important role in promoting research, skill development and quality education in electronics, telecommunications, computer science and information technology.

In today's digital era, where emerging technologies such as cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics are shaping the direction of the industry, IETE's expansion in Bihar will provide engineering and computer science students with direct access to national-level platforms, certifications and industry networking opportunities.

This new partnership with IETE will particularly benefit the computer science students of Indian Institute of Business Management (IIBM), Patna. Students will now gain direct access to Centre of Excellence-based laboratories, expert-led training programmes, research projects and IETE's pan-India professional membership.

Through the Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, students will be able to participate in practical training, certification programmes and industry-oriented projects. At the same time, membership of the IETE Students Forum will connect them with technical experts, conferences and new career opportunities across the country.

IIBM is already working towards giving technical education a new direction in Bihar through the establishment of a Robotics and Embodied AI Centre, a modern AI Workstation Lab, and an advanced curriculum framework.

In this context, collaboration with a national organisation like IETE will provide students with a strong platform to acquire industry-standard skills beyond classroom learning. This will help them become better prepared to compete at both national and international levels.

Dr. Rohit Singh, Director, IIBM Patna and Honorary Secretary, IETE Bihar, said:

“This partnership with IETE is a decisive opportunity for our students. The association with a national platform in areas such as cybersecurity, AI and robotics will prepare them for future technologies and take their careers to new heights.”
