The Indian Institute of Business Management (IIBM), Patna, was founded in 1979 by a collective of distinguished academicians, social reformers, philosophers, planners, administrators, management thinkers, and industrialists. Conceived as an autonomous all-India institution, IIBM is dedicated to training, research, and education in the fields of management, computer sciences
The institute’s core activities encompass training, research, publications, conferences, consultancy, specialized academic and technical programs. Additionally, it undertakes and implements initiatives that contribute to the social, educational, cultural, and economic development of Indian society, with a special focus on empowering the youth.
Since its inception, IIBM has consistently responded to the evolving educational needs of society through continuous evaluation and adaptation. Dr. Priya Ranjan Trivedi
Dr. Priya Ranjan Trivedi (b. 1950) is an internationally renowned educationist, environmental scientist, and institution builder with over five decades of dedicated service to education, sustainability, and public policy. Recognized globally for his pioneering work, Dr. Trivedi is known for promoting the idea of creating job-givers over jobseekers by applying neological and neocratic approaches to education, research, and training.
Trailblazer in Indian Higher Education
Dr. Trivedi holds the rare distinction of being the first in India to design and launch over 50 innovative and interdisciplinary academic programs—many of which have become national benchmarks. These include:
- India’s first formal courses in Ecology & Environment (1975)
- India’s first professional training in Hospitality Management (1977)
- India’s first MBA with specializations like Disaster Management and TQM (1978)
- India’s first distance learning course in Environmental Communication (1979)
- Postgraduate courses in Bioinformatics, Geoinformatics, Peace Education, Ethics, Futurology, Vastu Science, Global Warming, and more
He is the architect behind India’s first formal academic programme in Cleanliness, Hygiene and Sanitation Education (CHASE)—a concept he introduced two decades before the national Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

He is the author of the widely appreciated biography "Narendra Modi: The Man India Needs", first published in 2014. The book has since seen multiple editions and has been released by several Indian dignitaries.
Over the years, Dr. Trivedi has advised Central and State Governments on educational reforms, disaster management, environmental law, and human development. His vision, “Catch Them Young”, has influenced over 300,000 schools, colleges, and universities across India.
Legacy & Personal Ethos
Dr. Trivedi began his social service at the age of 16 and attributes his lifelong work ethic to his family's legacy of nationalism and Gandhian values. The Ramphal Foundation, established by his family in 1934 and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, laid the foundation of his humanitarian vision.
With multiple degrees in Engineering, Management, Human Rights, and Environmental Law, Dr. Priya Ranjan Trivedi continues to inspire a cleaner, greener, and more peaceful world through education, innovation, and global collaboration.
