On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day on 11 August, MBA, BBA and BCA students of the Indian Institute of Business Management (IIBM) visited the Shaheed Smarak (Saptamurti) and Amar Jyoti to pay tribute to the seven brave student freedom fighters who were martyred on 11 August 1942.
The students remembered the young revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives while attempting to hoist the national flag at the Patna Secretariat during the Quit India Movement.
As part of the educational visit, the students also visited the Bihar Legislative Assembly and met Deputy Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav. They toured the Assembly premises, Central Hall, Central Library and e-Seva Kendra and learned about legislative procedures and the paperless working system.
The students also saw the historic 54-metre-high Clock Tower near the Old Secretariat.
Prof. (Dr.) Rohit Singh, Group Director, IIBM, said that the visit provided students with an opportunity to closely understand history and democratic institutions.
